Description
Thimble Cottage and the attached barn are located on Dark Lane in Wroxton. The house is dated 1699, while the barn dates from the 18th century. The house is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble and features a steeply pitched thatched roof with brick end stacks. It has a two-unit plan with a rear outshot, and the thatch extends approximately 1 metre above ground level. The building is two storeys high and has a two-window range, with two renewed wood casements and wood lintels on both the ground and first floors. There is a 20th-century entrance at the rear. The single-storey barn has been converted into domestic accommodation and is also made of coursed, squared ironstone rubble with a thatched roof. Garage doors are located on the right side of the barn. The interior has not been inspected.
