Description

Post Box Cottage is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is built of finely joined coursed squared ironstone, with a steeply pitched red tile roof and red brick end stacks with stone bases. The original layout comprised two units. The house is two storeys high and has a two-window front. The ground floor features a three-light fixed window with a wooden frame and chamfered wood lintel. The first floor has two two-light metal casement windows within wooden frames, each fitted with wrought-iron casement fasteners and springs, and wood lintels. Ironstone quoins are present. The entrance is located at the rear of the property.
