Description

Butler's Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century, with alterations and additions from the 19th century. It is constructed of squared coursed ironstone and features a steeply pitched red tile roof. The building has a blue brick ridge stack set on a stone base and a brick end stack. The layout consists of a two-unit plan, and the cottage has two storeys plus an attic, with a two-window range.

The entrance is approximately central and includes a 20th-century door framed in moulded wood with a wood lintel above. A 20th-century porch is present at the entrance, which is flanked by three-light metal casements, also with wood lintels. On the first floor, there are two similar windows. The cottage features wrought-iron casement fasteners and springs, as well as two gabled roof dormers. Ironstone quoins, bargeboards, and a finial add to the architectural detail of the building.
