Description
Poplars Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse constructed from finely jointed ironstone that resembles ashlar. It features a steeply pitched slate roof and stone-coped gables with moulded kneelers. The building has three blue brick stacks, with the right stack set on a stone base. It has a three-unit plan and stands two storeys high plus an attic, with a four-window range. The entrance includes a six-panelled door with an overlight and a 20th-century porch, while there is a French door to the left. On the ground floor, there are two three-light wood mullioned and transomed windows with wood lintels. The first floor has four three-light wood mullioned and transomed windows, also with wood lintels, and there are four gabled roof dormers. At the rear, there is a gabled two-storey staircase projection and an outshot with a slate roof. The interior has not been inspected.
