Description
Ivy Cottage is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone with ironstone quoins and features a steeply pitched thatched roof with renewed stone end stacks. The building is designed in an L-plan and has two storeys plus an attic, with a two-window range. The central entrance is a thatched and stone porch with a 20th-century door, flanked by three- and two-light renewed casement windows that have painted and chamfered wood lintels. On the first floor, there are two similar three-light windows. A 20th-century roof dormer is also present. The rear wing has a slate roof and renewed 20th-century windows. Inside, there are two inglenook fireplaces with stop-chamfered bressumers, a stop-chamfered beam, and chamfered joists.
