Description
No. 2 Silver Street is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with some alterations and additions made in the 20th century. It is constructed from regularly coursed ironstone rubble and features a steeply pitched thatched roof, with 20th-century tiles on the right side. The building has repointed stone end stacks and a two-unit plan with a two-window range.
The house is two storeys tall, with a lower section on the right. The entrance is located on the left and includes a 20th-century door set beneath a keystoned lintel and a hood. To the right of the entrance, there is a three-light wood casement window with a wrought-iron casement fastener. Adjacent to this are a single fixed-light window and another 20th-century window. The windows feature stone flat arches and a 20th-century lintel. On the first floor, there are two 18th-century two-light metal casements set in wood frames, complete with wrought-iron casement fasteners and wood lintels. The interior has not been inspected.
