Description
No. 1 Church Street is a cottage, likely built in the early 18th century, constructed from coursed squared ironstone. It features a steeply pitched thatched roof and brick end stacks. The building has a single-unit plan with a single-storey thatched extension on the right side. It is one storey plus an attic and has two entrances. The original entrance, which is off-centre to the left, includes a plank door with a moulded wood frame and wood lintel. A 20th-century entrance has been added on the right. Flanking the main entrance are two three-light metal casements set in wood frames, also with wood lintels. The gable on the left side has two two-light wood casements, again with wood lintels. The thatched single-storey extension on the right has had its windows and door replaced with 20th-century versions. The interior has not been inspected.
