Description
No. 6 Church Street is a cottage dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of regularly coursed ironstone rubble and features a steeply pitched thatched roof with a renewed brick end stack. The cottage has a two-unit plan and is a single storey plus attic.
The elevation facing Church Street has two metal windows from the 20th century on the ground floor, along with renewed wooden lintels. There is an eyebrow dormer above. The entrance is located at the rear and has a 20th-century door, with a 20th-century window and a small wooden casement situated between the floors, featuring a head in thatch. There is also a 20th-century eyebrow dormer. The interior is reported to have beams and an inglenook fireplace, although it has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
