Description

The Little Manor is a house located on the south side of Stratford Road in Wroxton. It dates back to the early 17th century and has undergone some alterations since its construction. The building is made of regularly coursed ironstone rubble and features a thatched roof with a stone-coped gable that has a kneeler on the left side.

The house has a three-unit through-passage plan and includes an additional unit that was originally a barn or stable, which is now part of the house. It is a single-storey structure with attics and a cellar, and it has a four-window attic range. The entrance, located to the right, consists of a plank door with a wooden lintel. There is a 20th-century entrance at the rear.

On the left side of the building, there is a single-light window and two three-light stone mullioned windows with flat-splay sections, as well as a four-light stone mullioned window with a cavetto section. All of these windows have hood moulds and label stops. Additionally, there is a large two-light window from the 20th century. The cellar features a window with three lights that has been repointed.

The attic includes four eyebrow dormers with three-light casements that have wrought-iron casement fasteners. There is also a 20th-century flat-roofed extension at the rear. Notably, the left gable of the former barn/stable has nesting holes. Inside, the house contains stop-chamfered beams and an inglenook fireplace with a stop-chamfered bressummer.
