Description
No. 3 Silver Street is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with some alterations made to the window openings in the 20th century. It is built of coursed squared ironstone and features a thatched roof with a brick stack at one end. The house has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys tall, with a single-storey thatched extension on the right side.
The front has a two-window range, with the entrance located off-centre to the left, which is topped by a stone lintel. The entrance is flanked by a single 20th-century metal casement window and a three-light metal casement window, both set within the original openings and also featuring stone lintels. The right extension includes a 20th-century window with a renewed wooden lintel. On the first floor, there are two 20th-century metal casement windows, each with wooden lintels. Inside, there are three iron tie-beams, and the right side of the building has ironstone quoins. This property was originally constructed as one building with No. 4 Silver Street to the left. The interior has not been inspected.
