Description

Rectory Cottage is a cottage dating from the 18th or 19th century, constructed from coursed, squared ironstone. It features a hipped, thatched roof with wide eaves soffit and has a two-unit plan. The cottage is single storey and designed in the cottage orne style. The central entrance consists of a plank door with studs and Gothic arched ribs, supported by strap hinges and topped with a painted wood lintel. On either side of the entrance are two-light windows with small opening casements that have latticed lead cames. The windows are adorned with Tudor style hood moulds and label stops. At the rear, there is a similar single storey section that also has a hipped thatched roof. The interior has not been inspected.
