Description
Amberley is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with a ridged tile roof and rendered brick end stacks. The building has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, featuring a two-window range. The central entrance consists of a four-panel, part-glazed door with a timber lintel, which is accessed by four brick steps. The ground and first floors have 20th-century two-light casement windows, all with timber lintels. To the left, there is a small square cellar window with a pegged wood surround and stone lintel. The house has quoins and stone-coped gables with kneelers.
Inside, the property features ogee-stop-chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace with a stop-chamfered bressumer. There is also a corner fireplace in the upper room with an ogee-stop-chamfered bressumer, a collar-truss roof, old stud partitions, and plank doors, as well as a stone cellar.
