Description
Porterhouse is a house dated 1760, built of red brick in Flemish bond and painted white, with a ridged tile roof and brick end stacks. It has an L-plan layout and is two stories tall with a two-window range facing the street. The main front features a blocked door to the left of center and a shallow bay, which was a former shop window, to the left, topped with a straight hood supported by brackets. The window to the right and those on the first floor have 20th-century frames that replaced the original sashes, and they have flat-arched heads with stone keyblocks. There is a renewed datestone inscribed MP/1760 located in the center of the first floor. The building also has a storey band and moulded brick eaves, with the roof hipped to the left. The rear left wing includes a 20th-century door and similar windows that have replaced the original sashes. Inside, the house features ogee-stop-chamfered spine beams and a fitted cupboard with a round-arched head and shaped shelves.
