Description

Stone Cottage is a cottage dated 1724, constructed from coursed limestone and ironstone rubble, topped with a plain-tile roof and featuring brick ridge and end stacks. The building has a 2-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, displaying a one-window range. A 20th-century plank door is located to the left, framed by a moulded wood surround and a timber lintel. The cottage has 2-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors, all with timber lintels. A datestone on the left gable is inscribed with "EL/1724". Inside, there is an ogee-stop-chamfered spine beam and an open fireplace that includes a bread oven.
