Description
Woodview is a cottage dated 1753, constructed from coursed ironstone rubble with a thatched roof and brick end stacks. The building has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, featuring a two-window range. It has 2-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors, which are topped with timber lintels. A datestone located between the first-floor windows under the eaves is inscribed with "WB/1753" and has a hood mould. The gables are stone-coped and include kneelers. To the left, there is a 2-light cellar window with a stone lintel. A 20th-century garage extension is located to the right, and the entrance is at the rear. Inside, the cottage features chamfered spine beams, an open fireplace, a tilted cupboard with shaped shelves, and several old plank doors. The roof structure includes a tie-beam and collar truss.
