Description
Ivy Cottage is a 17th-century house located on Newnham Mounts Lane. It is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble and features a slate roof with stone end stacks. The building has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, displaying a three-window range. The central entrance consists of a part-glazed plank door set within a 20th-century open porch. To the right of the door is a three-light ovolo stone mullion leaded window with a hood mould, followed by a one-light leaded window with a timber lintel. To the left, there is a two-light casement window with a timber lintel, and similar casements are found on the first floor, all featuring timber lintels. There is a one-storey extension to the left of the main structure. Inside, the cottage has an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer and chamfered spine beams.
