Description

The Tithe House is a 17th-century house located on the north side of Everdon High Street. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with a slate roof and brick end stacks set on stone bases. The house has a two-unit plan and a basement, with two storeys and an attic. Originally, it had a two-window front. A basement window with a timber lintel is visible on the left side. The ground and first floors have two-light casement windows with stop-chamfered lintels. Quoins are present, and the gables are stone-coped with kneelers. A single-storey brick extension from the 19th century is attached to the right side. A further single-storey extension and a two-storey brick section containing the rear entrance are also part of the property. The interior features chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, and an open fireplace with a stop-chamfered bressumer.
