Description
The Old Post Office is a house dated 1788, located on the north side of Everdon High Street. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone with a slate roof and brick end stacks. The building features a central staircase plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, presenting a three-window range. The central entrance consists of a part-glazed door framed by a moulded wood surround and a timber lintel, with a horned sash window above the door. To the left and right of the entrance, there are tripartite horned sash windows on both the ground and first floors, all featuring timber lintels. The exterior includes a chamfered plinth, moulded stone eaves, and stone coped gables with kneelers. A datestone inscribed L/M/1788 is located in the right gable. Inside, the building has stop-chamfered spine beams.
