Description

This is a house located at 1 Mill Road, dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone and features a slate roof with brick end stacks. The building has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic, presenting a two-window range. The central entrance consists of a part-glazed four-panel door topped with a stop-chamfered wood lintel, and there is a 20th-century gabled porch added. The ground and first floors have three-light casement windows, each with wooden lintels. The gables are stone-coped and include kneelers. To the right, there is a single-storey wing that was raised to two storeys in brick during the late 19th century. Inside, the house features ogee-stop-chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace with a cambered chamfered bressumer.
