Description
Gale House is a house from the early 19th century, with possible earlier origins, and has been altered in the 19th century. It is built from coursed squared ironstone and features a slate roof, with brick ridge and end stacks. The house has a two-unit plan and is two stories high with a two-window range. The central entrance has a four-panel, part-glazed door framed by a moulded wood surround, a wood lintel, and a porch that has a curved lead roof and wire trellis sides, accessed by two stone steps. There are 16-pane sash windows on both the ground and first floors, each with wood lintels. The building features quoins and stone-coped gables with kneelers. Inside, there are stop-chamfered spine beams, some of which are part-boxed. The house is included for its group value.
