Description
No. 12 High Street is a cottage dating from the 18th century, constructed from coursed squared ironstone with a pantile roof and brick end stacks. The building has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, featuring a two-window range. It has 2-light casement windows throughout, each with timber lintels. The cottage includes a plinth and has a stone-coped gable on the left side and a brick gable on the right, both with kneelers. The left corner of the ground floor is chamfered. To the right, there is a single-storey wing with a slate roof, which contains a five-panel door with a timber lintel and a 2-light casement window to the right, also with a timber lintel. Inside, the cottage features chamfered spine beams and a bread oven located by the kitchen fireplace.
