Description
Stone House is a house dated 1781, constructed from coursed squared ironstone with an old plain tile roof and brick end stacks. It features a two-unit central staircase plan, is two storeys tall with an attic, and has a three-window range. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door with a timber lintel and a gabled hood. The property has wood mullion and transom windows throughout, each with stop-chamfered lintels. A datestone, inscribed L/RM/l781, is located between the central and right first floor windows, and the building is accented with quoins, moulded stone eaves, and stone coped gables with kneelers. The roof structure includes a collar truss. Inside, there are some ogee-stop-chamfered spine beams, an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer, and a dog-leg staircase with slender turned balusters leading from the ground floor to the attic.
