Description
23 Stubbs Road is a house that was originally a pair of cottages, built in the 18th century. The building is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble and features quoins, with a corrugated asbestos roof and brick stacks at each end. It stands two storeys tall with an attic and has a two-window range. There is a plank door to the left of the center, which has a moulded wood surround and an overlight. To the right of this door is a blocked door with a timber lintel. The windows on either side of the doors, as well as those on the first floor, are two-light casements, all with timber lintels. Additionally, there is a blocked two-light chamfered stone mullion window on the first floor of the right gable end elevation. Inside, the house features stop-chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer.
