Description

Hill Top is a house dated 1688. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone with a thatched roof and brick end stacks. The house has a two-unit plan, two storeys and an attic, and a two-window front. A six-panel door with a 20th-century hood is situated to the right, with a datestone above inscribed "P/TM/AD/1688". To the left of the door is a two-light wooden mullion and transom window, and a further 20-pane sash window is located to the far left. Similar two-light wooden mullion and transom windows are found on the first floor. All windows have timber lintels. The gables are stone-coped with kneelers, and there are two hipped roof dormers. A single-storey thatched range originally served as outbuildings and is located to the right; it has been largely converted and now features 20th-century windows. Inside, the house has an open fireplace with a cambered bressumer and a chamfered spine beam.
