Description
Manor Cottage is an 18th-century cottage located on the north side of Manor Lane in Newnham. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble and features a reed thatch roof with a brick ridge stack. The cottage has a two-unit plan and is two stories tall with a one-window range. The front faces Manor House and includes a 20th-century glazed door to the right, framed by brick jambs and a timber lintel. To the left, there is a central 9-pane one-light casement window and a 15-pane window, with two-light casement windows above in an eyebrow dormer. All windows are topped with timber lintels. The right angle of the building has brick quoins, and there is a 20th-century garage extension to the left. Inside, the cottage features an ogee-stop-chamfered spine beam, an open fireplace with a bar-stop-chamfered bressumer, and a purlin roof.
