Description

The Cross is a house dated 1712. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone with an interlocking tile roof, and features stone end stacks with brick flues. The building is arranged with a three-unit plan.

The house has two storeys and an attic, with a three-window front. A six-panel door is set within a moulded wooden surround and sheltered by a segmental metal hood, positioned to the right of centre. A datestone above the door is inscribed "S/GD/1712". A 20th-century two-light casement window is located to the left of the door, set within a widened opening and with a timber lintel. A further 20th-century three-light casement window is on the far left, also with a timber lintel. To the right of the door is a two-light wood mullion and transom window with a stone lintel and keyblock, and to the far right is an inner blocked squared window with a stone lintel. The first floor has two-light mullion and transom windows with stone lintels and keyblocks.

Inside, the building contains chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace with an ogee-stop-chamfered bressumer.
