Description
Dicks Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1720. It features fine coursed squared ironstone with a slate roof and brick end stacks on stone bases. The building has a central staircase plan and is two storeys tall with an attic, presenting a three-window range. To the left of the centre, there is a six-panel part-glazed 19th-century door with panelled reveals, a moulded wood surround, and a straight hood on brackets. To the right, there is a narrow eight-pane sash window with a stone lintel and incised keyblock, and a similar window above it, also with a keyblock. The remaining windows are 16-pane sashes, all with stone lintels and keyblocks, except for a small rectangular window on the ground floor left, which has a chamfered stone surround. Above the door, there is a datestone inscribed N/TD/1720. Inside, the farmhouse has bar-and-spearhead-stop-chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace with a spearhead-stop-chamfered bressumer.
