Description
NEWNHAM MOUNTS LANE SP5859 (East side) 15/152 Newnham House 18/01/68 GV II Farmhouse. Late C17. Coursed squared ironstone, thatch roof, stone end and ridge stacks. 4-unit plan. 2 storeys and attic. 3-window range. Central part-glazed C20 door with moulded wood surround and gabled hood, and Sun fire insurance plaque to left. Leaded cross windows to ground and first floors left and right, small squared window to first floor far left, all with timber lintels. Two roof dormers with 2-light small pane casements, quoins and stone-coped gables with kneelers. Single-storey outbuilding range projects form left end. Garden front of 5 windows has glazed garden door to left of centre and leaded cross windows throughout except for narrow leaded window with transom to left of door, all with timber lintels. Interior has boxed spine beams, dog-leg staircase with turned balusters and open fireplace in kitchen, fine set of old doors mostly with HL hinges and collar truss roof.
