Description
Snorscomb Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse built with coursed squared ironstone and topped with a slate roof. It features stone end and ridge stacks, with the left stack having a flue that has been rebuilt in brick. The building has a three-unit plan, stands two storeys high with an attic, and has a four-window range. To the left of the centre, there is a six-panel door with an overlight set in a gabled timber porch. The ground floor has three-light casement windows, while the first floor has two-light windows, except for the rightmost window which has three lights. All windows are adorned with timber lintels. The farmhouse has quoins and stone-coped gables with kneelers, and there is a two-window wing at the rear left. Inside, the farmhouse features a flagged floor, boxed spine beams, and a late 18th-century dog-leg staircase with landings, stick balusters, and a ramped handrail. The roof is supported by collar trusses. This farmhouse was formerly part of the Knightly estate.
