Description
The Manor House is a late 17th-century house located on Stubbs Road in Everdon. It is constructed from coursed squared ironstone and features an old tile roof with stone end stacks, which are partly adorned with ornamental 19th-century terracotta chimney posts in a Tudor style. The house has a two-unit, through passage plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, presenting a three-window range to the principal front facing the garden. This facade includes a central glazed door with a straight hood supported by iron brackets, and above it is a two-light wood mullion and transom window with a stone sill and lintel featuring a keyblock. To the left and right of the door, there are similar three-light windows on both the ground and first floors. The building is accented with quoins and stone-coped gables that have kneelers. To the left, there is a one-storey-and-attic section with a one-window range, which includes a similar two-light window in the dormer. Inside, the house features stop-chamfered spine beams and a large open fireplace with a depressed stone arch that has ogee-chamfered outer and hollow-chamfered inner arches, as well as another open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer.
