Description
No. 31 on Stubbs Road is a house built in the late 17th century. It features coursed squared ironstone construction and an asbestos slate roof with brick stacks at either end. The house has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic, presenting a three-window range. The central door is part-glazed and has a timber lintel that extends over a small blocked window to the left. Throughout the house, there are 2-light casement windows with timber lintels, and the first-floor windows have stop-chamfered lintels. The lintel above the middle first-floor windows extends over another small blocked square window to the left. The building is accented with quoins and stone-coped gables. Inside, there are stop-chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace featuring an ogee-stop moulded bressumer.
