Description
No. 16 on Main Street is a house with medieval origins that was reconstructed in the late 17th century or early 18th century. It features regular coursed limestone and a thatched roof. Originally likely a hall house, it has been divided into two units and stands two storeys high. The front has a two-window range of casements with glazing bars, all beneath wooden lintels. There is a central 19th-century plank door, also under a wooden lintel. Brick stacks are located at both ends of the building. The right gable includes a medieval window surround at the upper level, which has a four-centred-arch head. An outbuilding attached to the rear is now part of the house. Inside, there are remains of an open fireplace with a bressumer, a winder stair, and stop-chamfered spine beams.
