Description
Home Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 17th century, with alterations made in the mid 19th century. It is constructed from squared coursed limestone and features a Collyweston slate roof. The building has an L-shape plan and stands two storeys tall. The main front has a five-window range that includes 2- and 3-light 19th-century casement windows on the first floor, all set under wooden lintels. To the left on the ground floor, there are two 19th-century three-light stone mullion windows. A four-panel door is positioned to the right of centre and has a rectangular fanlight above it, also under a wooden lintel. The farmhouse displays ashlar gable parapets and kneelers, along with ashlar ridge and end stacks that have moulded cornices. The rear wing is similar in style and also features casement windows. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to contain remains of an open fireplace with a bressumer and spine beams.
