Description

The Laurels is a house dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone with a plain tile roof, and features stone end stacks with brick flues. The house follows a two-unit, lobby entry plan and has two storeys and an attic. The front is arranged with a two-window range. A part-glazed four-panel door is located to the right, protected by a timber lintel. The ground floor has two-light casement windows, while the first floor has similar three-light windows, all with timber lintels. The corners of the building are defined by quoins, and the gables have a stone coping and kneelers. A single-storey, rendered kitchen extension was added in the 20th century to the right side. Inside, the house contains stop-chamfered spine beams and open fireplaces with chamfered bressumers.
