Description
Nos 36 and 38 St Margaret's Street are a pair of houses from the early 18th century that have been considerably altered. They are built of brick and feature Kent-tile hipped roofs. The houses are double depth with a central chimney stack that runs parallel to the street. The buildings are 2½ storeys tall and have a regular four-window arrangement, with two windows on the upper half storey and two on the other floors. The upper half storey has 8-pane sash windows under flat window arches, while the other floors have 12-pane sash windows under cambered arches. Notably, the sashes on No 36 do not have horns. The doors, located on the right and left, are recessed under cambered arches and have rectangular overlights; No 36 features a panelled door, while No 38 has a half-glazed door. The right side of the building is rendered. The interior has not been inspected.
