Description
1 and 2 St Thomas's Square is a corner building located at the intersection of Union Street and St Thomas's Square, dating from around 1840. It consists of two sections that were originally separate houses and stands four storeys tall, finished in stucco. Both sections feature curved fronts, a cornice, and a parapet. The eastern section has a frontage of five windows, with a cornice above each floor and windows framed in moulded architrave surrounds. The western section projects and includes four fluted columns extending from the first to the second floor; these were originally Corinthian columns, but the capitals have been removed. The first floor has round-headed windows. There are early 20th-century and later shop fronts on the building.
