Description
Nos 36 and 36A, along with Nos 39, 39A, and 39B, are early 19th-century buildings located on the east side of Union Street. They are three storeys tall and feature two windows each. No 39 is a corner building with a rounded end, which includes four additional windows facing Cross Street. The buildings are stuccoed and have pilasters flanking each of the four houses from the first to the second floor, along with a cornice and parapet.
Nos 36 and 37 each have a flattened three-light bow window on the first floor, with pilasters between the lights and a cornice above. No 38 has a standard three-light sash window with a cornice above it, while No 39 features a canted bay window with three lights. The glazing bars are intact above the ground floor of No 39 and only on the first floor of Nos 36, 37, and 38. The buildings have modern shop fronts. Nos 30 to 39B form a group.
