Description
The Colonnade Turk's Head Public House is a building dating from around 1830, likely designed by architect James Sanderson. It stands three storeys high and features a total of eight windows. The exterior is stuccoed and includes a colonnade that extends across the pavement, supported by eleven round Doric columns, with a square pillar at each end. The first-floor windows are framed with moulded architrave surrounds, and there are three blank window spaces that are similarly enclosed, along with one bay window that projects outward. A stringcourse runs above the first floor. Beneath the colonnade, there are shops, with modern shop fronts except for No 2, which is next to the Turk's Head and retains its original glazing bars. The glazing bars above the ground floor are also intact.
