Description
No. 5 Lind Street is a tall Italianate house built around 1850. It has three storeys and is faced with stucco. The building has a narrow front facing Lind Street, with the entrance located on the side. It features a low-pitched hipped slate roof and a heavy cornice with modillion and dentil details, as well as a cornice at the ground floor level. The house stands on a high plinth and has rusticated strips flanking the ground floor.
On the second floor, there is a tripartite window with round-headed lights. The ground and first floors have superimposed stucco bays, each with three recessed sash windows that have later glazing bars. The ground floor windows are round-headed and flanked by rusticated pilasters. The ground floor also features a frieze and cornice that extend to the east front, which has five windows. The three southernmost ground floor windows are round-headed with moulded arches and keystones that reach up to the dentil of the cornice. The entrance is round-headed and recessed, with a modern door and steps leading up.
