Description

This barn, located 20 meters northeast of Foals Green Farmhouse, dates from the 17th century and was built in two phases. It was restored around 1980. The structure is timber framed and weatherboarded, with a roof covered in corrugated iron. It features mid-20th century single-pane windows and consists of four bays, with the eastern bay being a slightly later addition for stables. There is a cart entrance in the middle bay of the first phase. The frame includes a middle rail and reversed bracing. The gable end wall between the two phases is partly original and has clay lump infilling. The roof contains clasped and butt purlins, although most of the original rafters are missing. The barn is included for its group value.
