Description
This barn, located 30 meters north of Gables Farmhouse, dates from the 17th century and was built in two phases. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, with most of the gable end facing the road covered in concrete tiles. The roof is covered with pantiles. The barn consists of four bays, with the two western bays being a later addition. The frame is largely intact, except for the western bay, which has been altered and now features a modern floor; this bay is separated from the rest of the barn by a brick wall. There is a cart entrance in the third bay from the west, accompanied by a lean-to porch on the north side. The roof structure includes clasped and butt purlins, with the butt purlins staggered in the later section. The barn is included for its group value.
