Description

Suffolk House is a former farmhouse dating from the mid-17th century. It is timber framed and encased in late 19th-century red brick. The roof is plain tiled at the front and pantiled at the rear. The building has two storeys and a three-cell layout. There are two windows featuring 18th to 19th-century three-light casements, with segmental arches on the ground floor. A 20th-century boarded door leads to a cross-passage. Inside, there is an internal stack, and the plain studding and floor joists are exposed. The original floorboarding remains intact. Two later staircases at each end indicate that the building was likely divided into cottages at one time.
