Statue. C18, brought here 1964. By Scheemakers (signed on base). White marble figures and panelled plinth, raised on low limestone step. Lifesize figures facing W, with Adonis seated on tree stump looking up at Venus who is bending over to examine his face. A hound and cupid seated to Adonis's right hand. Rectangular plinth with fielded panel on each side. Moulded base and cornice.
