TL 1822 ST PAUL'S WALDEN ST PAUL'S WALDEN BURY

Small temple above theatre in gardens at 10/194 The Bury at Grid Ref TL 1887 2207 27.5.68 (formerly listed as The Gardens at St Paul's Walden Bury) GV II Garden temple. C18 columns, roof renewed in C20. Limestone base and steps, and columns, moulded wooden painted entablature and ribbed copper dome with plastered dome within. A small circular Tuscan temple on a a mound at the N end of the open air theatre with 6 columns carrying the dome with acorn finial. Limestone base has paving with radial pattern from central roundel. Moulded stone steps to S half. Mouldings outline 3 gored panels on plaster inner dome with central pendant.
