Description

This is a garden statue of a cherub riding a swan, located in a pool on the west side of the gardens at The Bury. It dates from the early 18th century and is likely the work of John Nost, who died in 1729, similar to statues supplied for Rousham. The statue is made of lead and is positioned in the center of an irregularly shaped pool. The figure depicts a small cherub on the back of a life-sized swan that is wearing a collar.
