Description

This is a pair of semi-detached brick houses, numbers 8 and 9, dating back to the 1840s and resembling numbers 4 and 5 on Yew Tree Road. Each house has three bays, with a blind central feature above the doorway. They feature a gable-ended slate roof with overhanging eaves and brick chimney stacks. The gable end of number 9 has two chimney stacks, along with a circular vent featuring a decorative iron grille. The windows are revealed sash windows with wide-spaced glazing bars, stucco sills, and segmental gauged rubbed brick arches. An arched entrance recess is present, incorporating a doorway of the Lee's Crescent type, with flattened columns and an entablature beneath a fanlight.
