Description
Nos 4 and 5 Yew Tree Road are a pair of 2-storey semi-detached houses built around 1840, located in Edgbaston. They are constructed of red brick and each house features three bays with a blind center bay above the doorway. The houses have gable end slate roofs with overhanging eaves. The windows are revealed sash types with segmental rubbed brick arches, wide spaced glazing bars, and marginal glazing in No 4, which also has stucco sills. Above the door of No 4, there is a modern oculus. The doorways are identical to those of Nos 2 and 3, featuring revealed fluted columns, an entablature below the fanlight, and a rubbed brick arch. No 5 has a late 19th-century addition of a barrel-roofed porch with trellis sides, which includes leaded stained glass on the front, flanking the entrance, and arched over it, displaying Art Nouveau details.
