Description

Number 24 on Leicester Road is a farmhouse that has been converted into offices. It was originally built in the early 18th century and was rebuilt in the late 18th century, with further alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed from Charnwood granite rubble and brick, featuring brick dressings, and has a Welsh slate roof with brick stacks. A Charnwood granite plinth supports the structure, which is three storeys high.

The front of the building has three windows and an off-centre doorway that is surrounded by wooden pilasters. The door is half glazed and is flanked by three-light cross casements with segment heads. To the right of the doorway, there are two shop windows, each with wooden pilaster surrounds and a linked bracketed hood. The left shop window has 15 panes, while the right has 12 panes. Above these, there are two three-light sliding sash windows on the left and a single three-light glazing bar casement on the right. The uppermost section features three three-light sliding sashes, all under segment heads.

On the left side of the building, there is a blind Charnwood granite wall that belongs to an earlier two-storey house. The rear of the property includes a two-storey wing that has a single glazing bar sash window and a round-headed glazing bar stair window.
