Description
This building is a barn and an attached cottage located 10 meters southeast of Plumpton Farmhouse, dated 1843. The structure is made of well-coursed dressed stone and features a slate roof. The cottage is a single-cell, two-storey building with a lower roofline than the larger barn on the left. The barn has a symmetrical design with an elliptical arched cart entry that has a dropped keystone. Above this entry, there is a simple Venetian window with an impost and a false keystone, and the lintel of this window is dated. On either side of the cart entry, there are mistal doorways, with a small window on one side. The cottage on the right end has a five-light flat-faced mullioned window on each floor, a coped gable with a stack, and a doorway located in an outshut with a monopitch roof. The left return wall of the barn features three rows of arrowslit ventilators arranged two over three over three, and there is an oculus at the apex.
