Description
This building consists of a barn and an attached cottage located to the southwest of Pex Tenements, dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed from well-coursed dressed stone and features a stone slate roof.
On the west side, there is a semi-circular arched cart entry with a chamfered surround. To the left of the entry are two windows, each with a chamfered surround. To the right, there is a two-light mullioned window and a mistal doorway that has a quoined lintel and a chamfered surround. The cottage, which was added shortly after the barn, is set back and has two storeys. It features double chamfered mullioned windows with four lights on each floor, although some of the mullions are missing. The left-hand return wall includes a similar four-light window on the first floor and two two-light windows in the attic, which are blocked. The rear of the cottage has a doorway with tie-stones and a chamfered surround.
The barn, which has an aisle to the east, includes a mistal doorway with a quoined lintel and a chamfered surround. The gable is coped and features kneelers.
